Terms and Conditions For Employers. Shipboard employment only.
Upon receiving a crew request Pacific Maritime Agency Ltd. (PMA Ltd.) will provide you with a number of selected candidates to best suit you requirements.
The hiring of crew presented by PMA Ltd. will be deemed as acceptance of our Terms and Conditions
An agreement shall be signed between PMA Ltd. and employers before crew member/s are to join the vessel. Employer is bound by terms and conditions between ship owner and seafarers.
Fees payable to PMA Ltd. services are due once a crewmember is hired within one year from the date of vessel engagement. If a crewmember is hired back by the same Owner within a period of one year, it shall be recognized by the Owner that PMA Ltd. originally provided the crew member/s and the Owner shall pay PMA Ltd the fees as stated below up to the equivalent of an initial placement fee minus - 50%.
Hiring of the same seafarer/s in the next calendar year/s will be negotiated on a lower fee scale to fit individual employer’s crewing demands and provide long term reliable service.
The owner or captain of the vessel is responsible for all travel and incidental expenses.
FEES
Placement fees are the responsibility of the hiring owner and are charged on a percentage of salary paid to the seafarer.
Fee depending on a particular delivery conditions such as tour of duty, area of navigation and size of vessel are negotiated.
PMA LTD. SERVICES
PMA Ltd. will replace any Permanent crew member hired at no additional fee within (sixty) 60 days from the date of employment commences should the crew member voluntarily leave the owner's employment, or be discharged for cause; provided:
PMA Ltd. is notified in writing within 7(seven) working days of the crew member's separation from the Owner:
Should the terms of this agreement not have been met upon the crew member's separation from the Owner, the Owner is responsible for placement fees due for the term of employment that the crew member was employed.
It is understood that PMA Ltd. cannot and does not guarantee future performance of its referred crew members.
PMA Ltd. Services shall only be valid if the fees have been paid in a timely and if the company is notified within 48 hours of the departure of the crew member. The above services will be invalidated in any of the following cases:
Change of Ownership
Major change in crew employment conditions at the time of hire upon reporting by the seafarer
Failure by the employer to maintain a safe working environment
Failure by the employer to maintain a drug free workplace
TERMS OF PAYMENT
Fees are normally paid within a week from the seafarer starting date or in advance. Payments not received within 14 working days will void free placement warranty and any future agreements and agency warranty.
A credit card is required to secure an order and will only be charged if full payment is not received within 14 days or at the customer's authorization. We accept MasterCard, Visa and AMEX.
